We are hiring!
For a private,
parent-run bilingual nursery (elementary) school due to start in September 2010
in Paris (France) eastern suburb, we are looking for an English native
speaking teacher with a 3-6 Montessori diploma and at least 5 years of
experience in Montessori classroom management.
The class will consist of 30 children of mixed ages ranging from 3 to 6 years.
Class will be taught by two teachers, one French- and one English-speaking,
both on an equal footing to ensure a good balance between both languages. The
ability to communicate in French is therefore not essential, but helpful.
The class is a new addition to a 15-year-old bilingual primary school, which
currently serves the needs of children from grade 12 to 7 and follows the
French official curriculum with added English training.
At this early stage of the nursery school, the successful applicant will
demonstrate pro-active and energetic dedication to the success of both the
children and the school. The English-speaking teacher will have the
responsibility to secure fluency in English to all children, most of whom are
non-native English speakers. S/he will work in close collaboration with the
French-speaking Montessori teacher (who will also serve as the school
director.)
This assignment is a multiple-year, challenging but rewarding commitment to
establish a Montessori nursery/elementary school in the long term. So if you
wish to join us, please send your detailed resume and letter detailing your
interests for the position as well as contact information of reference persons
